Grace Lockrobin appointed P4C Director

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Grace Lockrobin to the new role of P4C Director.

Grace is a philosopher who has advocated for P4C for over fifteen years as an academic, teacher, facilitator and trainer. Previously, she has led a wide variety of public philosophy projects through Thinking Space CIC, which she founded in 2008. Alongside this, as a Teaching Fellow in Philosophy at the University of Leeds, she has introduced philosophy to children, teachers, undergraduates and academics through the outreach programme she led there.

Grace is currently writing up her PhD in Philosophy of Education at UCL where she has been working on the role of philosophical enquiry in ethics and aesthetics education. Grace is the co-editor of the book ‘Philosophy and Community: Theories Practices and Possibilities’ in which she argues, and very much believes, that dialogue about the questions that matter most is a vital part of a good education and a flourishing life.

Grace is a SAPERE trainer and has been an active member of the SAPERE – and wider UK and international P4C community – for many years, leading over fifty SAPERE courses in that time and contributing to many P4C projects, courses, resources and events.

Grace said: ‘I am very excited to take on this role. There is so much good will within, and beyond, our community – I know that together, we can build on the three decades of work that SAPERE has done, to help many more people enjoy the benefits of thinking together and thinking for themselves.’

In the P4C Director role Grace will be co-leading SAPERE with Naghza Khokhar, our Operations Director. Grace will be responsible for leading on SAPERE’s P4C strategy and advocacy, for our training provision and P4C development, for our trainer community and external relationships as well as quality assurance for our training and courses.
