Awards

Thoughtful Awards celebrate schools, departments and alternative provisions that offer high-quality and sustained P4C.

With well-defined objectives for students, teachers and leaders, the process of applying for an award can help you plan philosophical enquiry progressively, evidencing its impact on your students and recognising how your practice has grown over time.

While Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards are open to any educational setting practising P4C, to get the most from the process, we recommend our Grow P4C Programme, which provides structured support and guidance for those working towards an award.

Bronze Award

Silver Award

We would normally expect a school to have been doing P4C for two full years before being ready to apply for the Silver Award.

Gold Award

Our Gold Award is for schools or departments where P4C has been fully embedded so that it is reflected in the school’s ethos, strategy, teaching and learning.
