Our Silver Award is for schools or departments where P4C is a regular part of teaching and learning within your school or department. Students demonstrate familiarity with philosophical concepts and questions and teachers are beginning to integrate planning and reviewing P4C across the curriculum.

How to apply for a Silver Award
We would normally expect a school to have been doing P4C for a full two years before being ready to apply for the Silver Award.
Please read our Silver Award Evidence Guidelines and Silver Award Application Exemplar before completing the application form.
Your completed form should be emailed to awards@thoughtful.org.uk. If you are attaching large files, please send via Dropbox.
There is an application fee of £275 for a Silver Award. Please contact accounts@thoughtful.org.uk to arrange payment.
Please note that if your school is signed up to a Grow P4C Programme, the fee for the Silver School Award is included in your programme of training and support.

How long are Awards valid for?
Our Silver Awards are valid for three years from the date of the Award – though many schools progress to Gold before the end of the initial three years. After three years, we will ask you to apply either for your Gold Award or for re-accreditation at Silver.
To reapply for Silver, please download the renewal application form or contact awards@thoughtful.org.uk
The re-accreditation fee is £275 and will last for another three years. If you are part of a Grow P4C Programme this cost could be incorporated into your programme and may not be payable.
