Information for Trainers

Urgent contact for problems with courses (for example if you are too ill to run a session)

If you are unable or think you may be unable to run a course as scheduled, or face any other urgent issues with a session, please let the Thoughtful staff team know as soon as possible. Even in the case of a school INSET or school-hosted open course, please contact Thoughtful in the first instance so that we can think about the best way to respond and hopefully to offer a trainer to substitute for the session.

To make urgent contact: During working hours call the office on the main contact number: +44 (0)1784 906899. If we’re unable to respond on the main office line immediately, then you can call Grace Lockrobin directly (her mobile number has been shared with you in Trainer materials previously and is available via the Staff and Trainers WhatsApp group).

Who to contact

Thoughtful trainers should use the admin@thoughtful.org.uk email for queries about courses and events (other than short notice issues, as above).

If you have a question about one of your Going for Gold schools or about a commission which has been allocated to you, please email Aimee in the first instance who will then allocate it to the right team member: aimeegeorge@thoughtful.org.uk

Schools and organisations should email enquiries@thoughtful.uk for all queries.

Registering your courses

To register new courses and events, including support and admin days, use the online form at:
https://forms.office.com/e/5eYwHw8Bsn

Exception: ITE courses and events should be sent by email to our admin team in the first instance.

Registering delegates booked externally onto Open courses

Important: Externally-booked delegates for your Open Thoughtful-accredited courses must be added to Arlo, so that they receive all automated course information prior to the course, as well as aftercare emails including feedback requests for quality assurance purposes.

Thoughtful will add these delegates into the Arlo system for you, but you need to provide the contact information using the form below, at the latest by 10 days before the start of the course:

(The sheet is not editable online: download it, complete it, and return the form to admin@thoughtful.org.uk).

Registering un-booked delegates on INSET courses

For various reasons we know delegates often arrive on INSET courses without previous booking (for example: teachers substituting for other teachers who couldn’t make it). When this happens it is important that we register the delegates who actually take the course.

Again, Thoughtful will add these delegates into the Arlo system for you, but you need to provide their contact information using the form below, as soon as possible:

(The sheet is not editable online: download it, complete it, and return the form to admin@thoughtful.org.uk).

Logging in to Arlo and the Student and Trainer Portal

Use Arlo to:

  • Review information about your courses, including student details and content that students will see on the Student and Trainer Portal (including reading materials, handbooks and coursework templates)
  • Must: Record attendance of delegates on your courses on each session of the course.
  • Email delegates on your courses (they will receive automated emails about the upcoming course anyway, but you can send additional communications when necessary)

To log in to Arlo, please go to https://thoughtful.arlo.co/identity/account/login

Use the Student and Trainer Portal to:
