Helen has been delivering P4C Level One training since 2005 and Level Two training since 2010. She has trained over 2,000 teachers and ITE students at various levels including around 60 whole school Level One programmes.
Formerly a primary teacher in Leeds where she taught across the age range for 9 years she has been involved in delivering Global Education training to teachers in ITE, within school and on open courses across Derbyshire and South Yorkshire for many years. She has been using P4C with children since 2003.
Helen Griffin (PGCE, MA in Education) has been delivering training through the Development Education Centre South Yorkshire (DECSY) since 2005. She has coordinated several curriculum development projects with a P4C focus including Non-Violent Action: A Force for Change.
Helen specialises in P4C within global learning in primary and secondary schools.
Helen has particular expertise in gender equality education and is the author of Gender Equality in Primary Schools: A Guide for Teachers (Jessica Kingsley Publishers, July 2018), which provides guidance and lesson plans using P4C to enquire into gender issues.
