Laura Wilkins
Laura is our Fundraising Manager, supporting all aspects of income generation, with a particular focus on helping grant-making Trusts and Foundations to fulfil their charitable missions by identifying and developing opportunities to achieve shared aims.
Laura has a degree in Philosophy and Political Economy, a PGCE in post-compulsory education, and went on to further postgraduate study at the University of Exeter, gaining a Masters degree within the Political Theory cluster of the Politics department. She has experience teaching philosophy, critical thinking, and the history of ideas at A-Level, undergraduate level, with children, and with adults in the community – designing and facilitating her own programmes for residents of Dartmoor alongside completing Sapere initial training in 2016. She has also worked within a secondary school setting as a pastoral lead. Laura has several years of experience working as a Trusts and Foundations fundraiser for charitable organisations which support people navigating public services – first within Criminal Justice, and more recently, Health and Social Care. In her academic life, Laura had a particular interest in how the concepts of trust, accountability, and transparency interact within a data-driven public sector; with a focus on goods such as education, where things that really count- such as relationships- can be overlooked in favour of things more easily counted.
