Loli Clarke

Formal P4C sessions take place at least once a week in Loli’s classroom and the children have time daily to think philosophically in their reflective journals. This regularity has created a culture where enquiry is expected, valued and enjoyed. You will often hear the children saying “yes P4C!” when they see it on the visual timetable. Loli works with a diverse group of learners, including children with SEND, quieter pupils who need space to build confidence and those who thrive on debate. P4C provides an inclusive platform where every child can contribute in a way that feels natural to them.

As a teacher and leader of P4C and PSHE within her primary federation, she leads and facilitates high-quality philosophical enquiry across schools, supporting both children and staff to develop confidence in questioning, reasoning and discussion. Loli’s enthusiasm for P4C has led her to deliver engaging CPD sessions that inspire colleagues to embed meaningful philosophical dialogue into their own classrooms. Loli believes that philosophy empowers children to think deeply, communicate respectfully and develop the confidence to explore complex ideas together. Loli has created “Miss Clarke’s Complicated Questions,” a whole-school approach that encourages children across all year groups to think philosophically every day, fostering curiosity, wonder and rich discussion throughout the school community.

Loli’s commitment to P4C stems from a belief that children flourish when they are given time and space to think in a safe environment. P4C nurtures empathy, curiosity, critical thinking and confidence. These are qualities that shape not only academic learning, but the kind of people children become. Loli is dedicated to championing this work across her federation and to continuing her own development as a reflective, passionate P4C practitioner.
