As Director of Understanding Humanism at Humanists UK, Luke leads the charity’s education work, including its school speakers programme, teacher CPD, and the production of education resources. He is also a board member of the Religious Education Council of England and Wales. Earlier in his career, Luke was a primary school teacher, and worked for over a decade in media production, producing TV documentaries and factual entertainment series.
He studied philosophy as part of his degree and has retained a passion for the subject ever since. He trained as a philosophy teacher with the Philosophy Foundation and delivered regular P4C sessions while working as a primary school teacher. Whenever he can, he enjoys dropping philosophical questions into dinner table conversations with his own children.
